Tricot: je jubile !

It was back in 2009 when the pattern for my british Flag was published for the first time on the Knitonthenet website, hosted by Susan Crawford. A quite successful design (thank you all of you!) that seems to fit perfectly in the actuality and it's one of my designs I really like a lot; Its versatility, the use of Icelandic techniques, the incorporation of Icelandic knitting traditions in a decisively modern design.
Inspired by Icelandic artist Birgir Andrésson, I knitted it with natural sheep colors, a color scheme I want to believe I started the trend of for the Union Jack in the handknitting world. I used Jamieson & Smith 2 ply but Holst garn would be a good alternative and of course Icelandic lace weight too.

C'était en 2009 lorsque le patron de mon Drapeau anglais était publié pour la première fois sur le site de Knitonthenet, créé par Susan Crawford. Il semble être parfaitement d'actualité et c'est l'un des modèles que j'ai créé que j'aime vraiment beaucoup. L'histoire derrière mais aussi la versatilité, l'utilisation de techniques islandaises, l'incorporation de vieilles traditions islandaises dans un design décidément contemporain.
Inspirée par l'artiste islandais Birgir Andrésson, je l'ai tricoté dans des couleurs naturelles de mouton, une combinaison de couleurs pour l'"Union Jack" dont je veux croire que j'ai été l'instigatrice dans le monde du tricot main. J'ai utilisé de la Jamieson & Smith 2 ply mais Holst garn serait une bonne alternative et bien sûr le fil dentelle islandais aussi.
